On-Grid Solar System

Grid-tied solar that offsets your electricity bills and can export surplus energy back to the utility.

Introduction

On-Grid Solar System

An on-grid (grid-tied) solar system works alongside the utility grid. Panels feed an inverter that powers your building directly, while any surplus can be exported to the grid and any shortfall drawn from it. With no batteries required, it offers the fastest return for facilities with a reliable grid connection.

Electric Grid

Energy flows from the array to the building, with a bidirectional relationship to the utility grid for import and export depending on demand and local rules.

Benefits

Key advantages of this architecture

Significantly reduces electricity bills during daylight hours.

Lowest upfront cost — no battery bank required.

Fast payback and strong long-term return on investment.

Surplus energy can be exported to the grid where permitted.

Low maintenance with a long system lifetime.

Reduces carbon footprint and reliance on fossil fuels.

FAQ

Common questions

Standard grid-tied systems shut down during outages for safety. If backup during outages is important, a hybrid system with batteries is the better choice.
No. On-grid systems use the utility grid as their balance, exporting surplus and importing when needed — which keeps costs lower and maintenance minimal.
Savings depend on your consumption, roof space and sun hours. Many facilities offset a large share of their daytime electricity, and we model expected savings during design.
Where local regulations and your utility allow net metering or export, surplus energy can be fed back to the grid, further improving your returns.
